Eight subsystems, deleted
The one-pager still says the system keeps learning while it runs. Epoch 2 deleted the machinery that did that — and the honest description got shorter, not sadder.
Labels used throughout. [MEASURED] — from the merge, the receipts or a re-run in the pack. [FACT] — a file in the pack. [OPINION] — mine.
There is a document in this project called ONE-PAGER.md that says, in its second paragraph:
It keeps learning while it runs. No “training run” that finishes and freezes — it absorbs new material continuously and never has to be taken offline to relearn.
That sentence was true of Epoch 1. It is false of the system that runs today. Epoch 2 has no
online learning: the supervisor runs an ingest executor and a read-only retrieval audit, and
otherwise rests [FACT, epoch.md].
The interesting thing is not that a pitch went stale. Every project has a stale pitch. The interesting thing is what the project did about it: it drew a line through the codebase, named an epoch, deleted eight subsystems, and wrote down how to read every artifact on either side of the line. This is the piece about that deletion — why the machinery went, what was measured instead, and why the honest description is one paragraph long.
